Hosted this year for the first time in Zurich, the Shorex Wealth Management Forum turned to be a great success. Nearly 500 professional investors and private client advisors benefitted from expert information exchange and networking opportunities. The Forum will be held in Zurich again in 2011.
Zurich, December 17, 2010. Shorex – organiser of the most prominent Wealth Management Forums throughout Europe – notably for the last nine years of the Geneva one, hosted a week ago a new event in Zurich, that proved to be a great success.
The event which offers an excellent platform for exchange of investment focused information, as well as for personal contacts among the leading European investment vehicles providers, funds houses, family offices, independent asset managers, and private client consulting companies, attracted nearly 500 participants. The all-day conference offered presentations, panel discussions, topics ranging from global macroeconomic mid- and long term outlook, innovative investment products and trends, to tax planning and tax optimization schemes in preferred jurisdictions. The delegates could also meet the exhibitors on their stands and have a chance to network.
Philippe Gelin, the co-founder and CEO of Shorex, pleased with the first Zurich Event said: "As a result of the global financial crisis, independent asset managers, private banks and fund managers had to be more rigorous and streamline their operations. The Shorex forum showed that the survivors are now stronger, and better equipped to provide value for money to their private clients. This is a very positive sign for the future of the industry and it also shows that Switzerland is keeping hold of its leading position in the wealth management market."
In the current economic environment in general, and investment climate in particular, the programme's primary focus was on fixed income securities, convertible bonds, index- trackers, UCITS, gold as an asset class, and commodities, with transparency and return stability as the dominant tenor. Emerging Markets with their impressive past performance and optimistic expectations, continued to attract attention in the investment community. Among first rate financial institutes, representatives of Deutsche Bank, Pine Bridge Investments, Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch&Cie, Falcon Private Bank, Carmignac Gestion, Swiss Association of Market Technicians (SAMT), WestLB AG, MRB Wealth Management, Baker Steel Capital Managers LLP, FCP Corporate Services,FBS International, and World Gold Council, provided the audience with lucid information and recommendations for future investment opportunities.
Philippe Gelin, expressed his utmost satisfaction with the Zurich event by the end of the day, stating that he is extremely pleased with the impressive attendance, participants' expressing their appreciation of the high level of presentations, lively discussions, and the superb opportunity for personal exchange and networking.
In light of the successful start, Shorex Management Forum will be held again on 5th October next year in Zurich at the Convention Point of the SIX Swiss Exchange. "It is our objective to stage Shorex Zurich from now on", confirmed Philippe Gelin.
